Kinja'd!!!

And what better place to start than Cadillac?

Kinja'd!!!

the ATS-v has the distinction of being the first Cadillac that my Pops likes (I'll include some of his cliff notes/comments/opinions because frankly, the man has FACSINATING taste in cars.)

Kinja'd!!!

The new Cadillac-only 3.0TT has a VERY pretty CF beauty cover.

Kinja'd!!!

Mmmmmmm V power.

Kinja'd!!!

The totes gorg CTS-v.

Kinja'd!!!

This CF accenting is beautiful and functional.

Kinja'd!!!

Malto bené!

Kinja'd!!!

Side note about the new V's CF accents, my dad wasn't a fan of the ATS-v with painted carbon bits, but the coupe without painted bits he greatly prefered.

Kinja'd!!!

Floor CT6, I'm gonna go ahead and say this is a platinum because although not badged as such, had an extra Caddy badge on the fenders (below) and a Escalade Platinum-style grille.

Kinja'd!!!

Mark of a Platinum trim level?

Kinja'd!!!

The unveiled model. With a security camera system, night vision, radar assist cruise control, 36 speaker Bose system, 4 wheel steering, AWD, the first GM Division-specific motor since the early 80s, reclining heated/ventilated massage seats (front and rear) this thing is bigger and badder than the A8, 7 series, and LS, while managing to weigh less than the CTS.

Kinja'd!!!

Cadillac continues to assert itself as the standard of the world. This isn't a benchmark-engineered car, it IS the benchmark.

Kinja'd!!!

Are they re-making The Fast and Thr Furious?

Kinja'd!!!

Goddamn, KIA. Suprised Toyota didn't pull a Bentley on this one.

Kinja'd!!!

First car from Holden as a design studio, rather than an automaker. I, for one, welcome our new ozzy style overlords.

Kinja'd!!!

New GT. I like the ass end. Heard some old guys complaining about a lack of V8. I agree.

Kinja'd!!!

New hydrogen honda! This one looks gooooooood. Loved the paint.

Kinja'd!!!

The GT robbed this car of all the press it deserved. This thing is crazy good looking.

Kinja'd!!!

The Continental- this car is REALLY good looking in person. Much lower slung and longer than pictures make it out to be. We'll see how much carries over to the production model, if they make it, but this concept looks great in the metal.

Kinja'd!!!

The paint and chrome bottom was genuinely beautiful, and I don't even remotely like Lincoln. Speaking of paint-

Kinja'd!!!

My dad took this one. I wasn't even there at the time. He was obsessed with this paint. The metallic flake matte finish blew is mind, because, direct quote here- "I'm used to matte being a euphanism for primer". Asked me several times throughout the rest of the day how his Viggen would look with this paint.

Kinja'd!!!

I love how Toyota uses the 4Runner as a test bed for awesome truck shit they do. First the original, then the Pre-Runner style lifted 2WD one in the '90s, followed by the badass V8 Trail, and now a SVT Raptor-fighter? Sign me up.

Kinja'd!!!

Found a unicorn. That's all for Part One: The New Shit.

Rico, Kyle and I spent a long time opening and closing doors on Cadillacs on Saturday. You can't even slam the trunks on them. It's crazy.

IMO the CT6 is totes dope. BUT I wouldn't call it the benchmark yet, interior still looks a step behind the S-Class.

i forget what show it was but someone did a chart breaking down what colors where used on all the cars. I'd be interested to see if blue has made a recent jump. All the Ford performance cars have been blue, this one, the Lincoln.

3 things: 1) if the only bad thing you can say about it is the interior looks a step behind the S-Class, it's hardly a disappointment. 2) the pictures don't do the interior justice, like, at all. 3) Caddy hasn't gone after the S-Class yet. That'll be the CT8 or 9 or whatever they wanna call it.

I'm digging so many of these vehicles especially from the American automakers. GM is really blowing me away with the Caddies and that Buick Avenir, damn they can still can make a gorgeous car. I think Toyota should really invest heavily in their offroad/performance Tacoma and 4Runner because TRD still isn't that great with such things, to my knowledge. I really love the look and dependability of both those trucks and really want to see some factory support for them.

"Cadillac continues to assert itself as the standard of the world."

Kinja'd!!!

The consistent best selling Cadillac has been the SRX. Cadillac raised prices last year to appear more exclusive and it backfired, leaving them with 4 months of unsold CTS sedan and 6 months of ATS sedans at the end of 2014. The only product they offer that they can't build enough of is the Escalade. I don't know what world you're referring to, but it's not this one.

I know you're a huge Cadillac fan, and I'm not making this post to troll or be inflammatory, but Cadillac has been pushing to be a premium brand for the past 15 years and it hasn't happened yet. Until they stop selling cars with pieces pulled from GM parts bins and stop cost-engineering their cars like the rest of GM I don't think it's going to happen. Audi outsold Cadillac in 2014 and all they sell are expensive Volkswagens. Cadillac still has a long way to go before they can be considered a luxury brand along the like Mercedes Benz or BMW.

Kinja'd!!!2

listen man, all this stuff is my opinion on the cool cars I saw. Nothing you can say will ever change my mind on Cadillac. There's nothing but Cadillacs in the driveway at home (my DeVille, my brother's ATS, my mom's SRX, and whatever demo my stepdad is using at any given time.) My stepdad runs a Cadillac Dealership, I'm a former Cadillac Tech. Cadillac is ingrained in my life, to the point where my fandom is more personal/emotional than most. I know you said you don't mean to be inflammatory, and due to your mod status I'll hold back, but I know for a fact you know my temper, as well as how personally I take Cadillacs. I know "don't shit stir" is a rule, and I'm gonna ask you kindly not to. You can deny it all you want, but you KNOW coming into one of my posts and saying stuff like Cadillac isn't luxury brand isn't gonna get a positive reaction from me.

Kinja'd!!! Party-vi > Your boy, BJR

Mod status has nothing to do with what or how I post. It's never afforded me protection when I fuck up or break one of the rules here.

I said my piece, you said yours, and I appreciate you responding to me the way you did.

I still stand by my experience that the front doors of the CTS V close with authority while the rear doors sound tinny and cheap. Also glove box only able to open via a button on the center console is lame, nothing wrong with latches especially if your car is completely dead and you need your registration or insurance you'll be shit out of luck in a caddy.

You'd be surprised just how good 3M 1080 metallic vinyl is. The matte blue one felt like paint but a close look at the edges and around the sensors showed it was a wrap.

Kinja'd!!!

Still good though!

And Mercedes has Designo Magno paint that is metallic matte, since the Volvo that was right next to it was wrapped in that blue in my other reply here I assumed that this too was a wrap. Looking at the volvo website they don't use actual pictures of the car to showcase the color in the build option but just a render which makes it hard to tell if they have matte options.

Unfortunately, the ass-hats at GM won't let you pair this color with that wonderful wine red interior on any car. Like, seriously? That color is perfect for this car. It's also a luxury car, so you should be letting the customer pair it up however he wants!

Creating the flat-plane Voodoo V8 and instead cramming an EcoBoost V6 in here, leaving the V8 solely for the Mustang GT350, is completely and 100% asinine. They might as well have just saved the money and used the EcoBoost V6 in the GT350, too.

Kinja'd!!! Axial > Milky

It is behind it there, for certain. However, I will be surprised if it isn't better in one luxury benchmark that is supposed to define the segment but that the top makers seem to have completely forgotten about: durability. Cadillac has been pulverizing Mercedes in that department since 1908.

For all the flack the S-class wheel gets, though...I kinda like it.
